Endangered animals: the panda

high in dense bamboo forestsin the misty , rainy mountains of south western china lives 1 of the worlds rarest mammals: the panda. only about 1,000 of these black and white relative of bears survive in the wild. pandas eat almost nothing but bamboo shoots and leaves. occasionally the eat other vegitation, fish or small animals, but bamboo accounts for 99 percent of their diet. They spend about 12 hours doing it. a well fed panda concentrates on eating the leaves and shoots of the
bamboo and 2 stay healthy, they have 2 eat alot- up to 15 percent of their body weight.
