peacocks

When thinking about peacocks, the first thought that comes to a persons mind is the peacocks amazingly colorful tails. It is one of the most beautiful birds in the world, is found inhabiting a few countries in India. There are basically two species of peacocks, the Indian peacock, which apparently is native to India, and the Green peacock which is native to the Asian countries. Peacocks are omnivores ( eat plants and animals) so their diet is mostly made up of plant parts, flower petals, insects, reptiles and amphibians. A peacock weighs 4 to 6kg and live to 15 years in the wild but up to 40 years in captivity. peacocks come in many colors, the colors mostly range from bronze to green to blue. Some peacocks are bred to be totally white.
